This month is the 5 years anniversary of
Thinkspace Gallery, one of the most interesting art galleries of California, birthplace of Low Brow Art in the '70. This trend, a.k.a. pop surrealism, nourished by underground culture, mixing punk and cómics in sometimes cute paints, but always sarcastic.
One of the Thinkspace's artist is Audrey Kawasaki, already mentioned in a previous post.
Camilla d'Errico y
Sarah Joncas are equaly great exponents. Maybe because they are not american but canadiens, their work is much more emotional than ironic.
De'rrico is a painter and e comic illustrator (she created the Avril Lavinge's graphic novel, Make 5 Wishes):
