Inclasificable como siempre pero más cercana que nunca, Joanna (California, 1982) ha logrado dominar su voz de sirena psicótica y dejado de lado sus ambiciones musicales más estrafalarias, dando a luz este año su disco más accesible, Have One On Me, que no es folk ni art-pop sino que más que la suma de las dos cosas. La diosa del arpa seguirá en su pedestal, pero ya no nos parecerá tan de otro mundo.

Desde el mismísimo Manchester, Julie Campbell revive el post-punk con su cantar agitado y su guitarra nerviosa. El productor Guy Fixsen (Pixies, The Breeders, Stereolab) logra pulir los bordes afilados del disco sin quitarle agudeza, manteniendo las canciones tan cercanas como crípticas, tan irónicas como honestas.
